The virus seems to be growing stronger which has led a number of state governments to require social distancing. Even holiday gatherings are being restricted although this is tough to enforce. Social distancing seems to have driven people crazy over the summer. The combination of working from home then having to stay home is tough. Get Into Shape

Getting into shape at home or outside is going to be a great way to stop thinking about COVID. Constantly sitting inside and watching the news can bring out a sense of dread to even the most fearless people. The winter is moderate in a number of places which makes it easy to go for a long run or bike ride. The summer is not so accommodating in many areas of the country. A stationary bike can be used while watching TV or clearing emails for work. Being able to binge-watch a series while exercising is a perfect way to multitask. Invest in some home gym equipment now as it could be quite a while until you are comfortable with going to the gym. 

Start Perfecting Certain Recipes

Learning to cook during this time can be a skill you can take with you for a lifetime. Perfecting a few recipes that you enjoy can allow you to showcase your skills to family and friends. You can take the healthy route or cook comfort food for the cold winter. You would be surprised what a few tweaks to a simple recipe can do to the overall taste of a meal. There are so many recipes online that you can choose from and you can have nearly any ingredient delivered to your door in most cities. 

Renovate Your Home 

Renovating your home since you will be in it for extended periods of time during social distancing is important. This doesn’t mean that you have to do a complete makeover but doing something like bathtub refinishing can be a great way to give the bathroom a new look. This is far more affordable than a complete bathroom renovation and can really make the bathroom look great. Create a list of different renovations that you are considering and prioritize them. You might have the budget to take care of all of them although this is not the case for a number of people. You can improve your quality of life with certain renovations and increase the resale value of your home. You would be surprised how much better you feel in a home that is newly renovated.

The next few months look like they are going to be tough. Keep your sanity by filling your time with constructive activities instead of just increasing the amount of alcohol that you drink.
