Israel’s Finest Wines, Now Within Reach

Israel has a long-standing history in viticulture that dates back to ancient times and contributes to the authentic wines being crafted today. Yet, it’s only in recent years that these exceptional wines have begun to make their way into the hands of global wine enthusiasts.

Variables like the soil, climate, sunlight, and rainfall all factor into the nuanced flavors of Israeli wines, along with the knowledge that has been shared throughout history. As a result, hundreds of thousands of bottles are crafted each year in one of 300 wineries within the country. Today, Israel makes wines from over 110 indigenous grape varieties. Some of Israel’s well-known native grape varieties include Marawi (Hamdani) as well as Bittuni, which is often referred to as the wine of Jesus, and Argaman, the sixth most planted red grape variety in Israel. The flavor of Marawi is distinguished by its minerality, while Bittuni has a more refreshing taste, and Argaman has more prominent fruit notes.

These Israeli grapes are made into wines that have recently won prestigious awards from the Decanter World Wine Awards, an influential wine competition. And now, with the help of wine concierges, Israel’s exquisite wines that were once impossible to taste outside of the country can be experienced worldwide.
